Well here we are. I definitely meant to write the past couple of weeks, but sometimes I guess I just don't prioritize it enough haha. Anyway, the past few weeks have been filled with some neat experiences and hopefully the one I share will be enjoyable to read.
Throwback to transfer day. This was on December 29th. Things went smoothly until the following morning. We got a phone call from one of the Elders who had been at transfers. He told us that he had felt pretty sick on the drive home, so he decided to test for Covid. You can probably see where this is going because yes, he tested positive. Long story short, my companions had to quarantine for just over a week because they may not have been fully vaccinated. I got to spend the last 10 days with Elder Worley, one of the Elders who speaks Mandarin in the zone.
We had a good time and were able to get a lot done. We started off the week with a sweet experience. After church, we went to visit someone who we had found a few weeks earlier from tracting. When she came to the door she told us that her Dad was with her and that he was just inside studying the bible. From inside the house Peter (the Dad) invited us in. As we came in he asked where we were from. When I told him Utah, he asked if I was brain washed, haha. We sat down and started our conversation.
Things got more and more interesting and we sat in and listened to Peter and Gemma. Peter looks like Si Robertson from Duck Dynasty. Except for he is English. He was probably a lot crazier than Si. He started by going off about how he didn't think we were supposed to eat meat and all these other fun ideas that caused us to just sit there and nod our heads. He started talking about some really weird experiences that he had had recently. Peter told us that he saw a vision where Jesus, Buddha, and Shiva went to India and started preaching to everyone to stop eating meat. Makes sense, haha.
Anyway, Peter told us of his mental health struggles that he had been having but how he knew the Lord was there for Him. We read Matthew 11:28-30 and then gave them both Blessings. They were both very touched by the Spirit and before we left Peter told us how he was grateful for us. He said he could just feel the love and the cleanliness from us and how he didn't see that anywhere else in the world.
That was just one of many experiences lately :)
