I know, I have already used that subject line but it's a classic and I'll probably keep using it. This past week was pretty solid! We were able to talk to and teach a lot of different people which was super cool! Something that we have been focusing on a lot in our mission is teaching the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ short, simply, and powerfully in 5-10 minutes. We were able to teach it in that exact way many times this week! A huge miracle we saw was about two weeks ago we contacted this guy in our parking garage and starting talking to him. He said he didn't really have a background with God or religion but we promised him our message can bring him so much peace. So we got a return appointment and last Tuesday we taught him and his fiancé! We shared the Restoration in about 8 minutes and the Spirit was exceedingly strong and we are going back to teach them again tomorrow but I don't know, it's pretty cool how it all works.
Later in the week, we went on an exchange with our Zone Leaders and we went and taught this guy that we had been trying to teach for awhile but finally got in with! When we got there he let us in and instantly you could just smell the smoke, haha. He may or may not have smoked weed before we met with him. Anyway, we asked him if he has been able to read the Book of Mormon and He said yes. He told us that he had been reading in Alma and we asked him what made him want to start from there. He said that one day he picked up the book, dropped it on the side of the pages, and started reading wherever it landed on
. He had read some parts that had been really relatable to his life so there is not much to say there except that God works in all kinds of ways haha!
Another cool thing is that one of my zone leaders is from Iraq, literally from Iraq. His name is Elder Mark Tiyari and he knew and helped my cousin, Christian Moody, when Chris was serving his mission in Germany. Then Chris helped teach Elder Tiyari when Elder Tiyari came to the MTC in Provo. They are good friends and it's kinda cool how that all came together!
